Lethal Company v55 brings a modest yet impactful update, introducing new creatures that pose significant threats to unsuspecting workers.
This version introduces two formidable adversaries to the game, rekindling the suspenseful atmosphere of transporting salvage from the Facility to the Dropship. Let’s explore the details of these new Lethal Company creatures in Version 55.
Lethal Company v55 – All new entities, detailed
Lethal Company v55 incorporates two entities. The first prowls the outdoor environment, while the second lurks within the Facility’s confines. Unlike the Masked Mimic, these creatures remain confined to their respective territories. The outdoor threat shares habitat preferences with the Tulip Snake, emerging on moons with abundant vegetation, without any predetermined spawn timing.
Similar to other Facility inhabitants, the newly introduced Barber appears more frequently in the deeper sections of the maze-like complex, with spawn rates varying by moon location. Here’s a comprehensive look at the Kidnapper Fox (Bush Wolf) and Barber (Clay Surgeon).
Kidnapper Fox

The Kidnapper Fox, listed as Bush Wolf in Lethal Company‘s Bestiary, presents itself as an unusual vulpine creature with a flattened form, distorted head, and frog-like hunting tactics. The Kidnapper Fox conceals itself within v55’s new vegetation—the Vain Shroud. This plant appears as a crimson, spiky bush. When multiple Vain Shrouds cluster together in a concentrated area, several Kidnapper Foxes might emerge simultaneously. The Fox uses the bush as cover, waiting patiently to ambush its prey.
Players can counter the Kidnapper Fox by striking its extended tongue with a weapon (when caught). The Fox employs lateral movements to evade attacks and frequently retreats to the Vain Shroud to prepare another ambush. The Kidnapper Fox succumbs after seven successful shovel strikes.
Barber

The Barber only becomes visible when in close range. It performs small leaps toward its target every three seconds. Its presence is marked by distinctive trumpet-like sounds (or clanging) when nearby. Tracking the Barber’s location proves extremely challenging without proximity, though approaching it directly puts one in grave danger.
The Barber’s movement is restricted to straight-line jumps within a one-meter range. Its distinctive giant scissors indicate its jumping direction. Positioning yourself directly in front of these scissors results in instant elimination, either forcing you into spectator mode or returning you to orbit. Pay close attention to the distinctive audio pattern—a subtle drumroll followed by a single trumpet note. This sound cue not only reveals the Barber’s directional intent but also indicates its proximity, eliminating the need for dangerous close-range reconnaissance.
Similar to the Coil-Head, the Barber appears to be impervious to damage, featuring an indestructible design. Given its mechanical movement sounds and the necessity of close-range visibility, your response to encountering a Barber should mirror your reaction to a Coil-Head—immediate retreat. The Barber remains invulnerable to all attacks.
