Your initial encounter with the Gray Garrison in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous occurs in the prologue. Following an inevitable defeat, you find yourself at the Defender’s Rest tavern. From there, your mission involves gathering companions, investigating the Blackwing Library to locate the Storyteller, conversing with Irabeth, and tackling both the Gray Garrison and its intricate statue puzzle.

How to solve the Gray Garrison statue puzzle in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Let’s be upfront – this isn’t a comprehensive walkthrough of the Gray Garrison area in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Be prepared to face numerous cultists and demons throughout your journey. The silver lining is that your recruited allies will prove invaluable. Given its difficulty level, which rivals or even surpasses the Fury Arena from the A Dance of Masks DLC, it’s wise to save your progress before beginning.

First and second floor fights

Begin by collecting the Scabbard of Heirloom Sword in the southwestern chamber. Mind the trap as you proceed through the doorway. Focus on eliminating the cultists while disregarding the magical door. Advance to the second floor to confront the Vermleks.

Enter the “Thieflings” (a band of Tiefling rogues — try saying that rapidly without stumbling), who cleverly sabotage one chamber to eliminate the hostiles within. Your spellcasting NPCs can weaken enemies and induce sleep effects. Maintain distance, utilize area-of-effect spells, and victory will be yours.

Discover a sealed chamber containing the Lesser Sonic Quiver and Razor-Sharp Claw. Across the corridor lies another room housing Abrikandilu and Magic Essence. Beyond this, you’ll encounter a substantial floor trap. Neutralize it, collect The Malady, Magic Essence, Shiny Dagger, and Tankard of Free Spirit from the adjacent chambers, and use one party member to disarm and lure out the Rogue. Once accomplished, charge in with your entire team.

You’ll eventually reach a second-floor chamber featuring six statues (accompanied by a succubus and multiple cultists requiring elimination). Your objective is to activate the switches in the correct sequence. A nearby text contains the crucial hint, though you can reference the solution in the image provided.

Successful completion reveals a concealed entrance, granting access to valuable items including the Flail of Lightburst, Cold Iron Flachion, Amulet of Agile Fists, Lightened Harness, and Leather Barding for your animal companions/mounts.

Note: While exploring another section of the Gray Garrison, you’ll encounter an adversary who drops a crucial key. This key unlocks a door on the second level, revealing a ladder that ascends to the third floor.

Upon reaching the third floor, you’ll have the opportunity to confront the Minotaur (who carries the Blocker Greataxe). After defeating it, make sure to save your progress before interacting with the Wardstone.

Which Mythic Path choice should I pick?

A storybook event unfolds, presenting you with the opportunity to select a Mythic Path through dialogue. Consider these options and their implications:

    • Demon Mythic Path – Retain the Purple Stone Knife, causing the aeons to withdraw their interest in mortal affairs.
    • Angel Mythic Path – Keep the Purple Stone Knife and resolve the Wardstone conflict.
    • Aeon Mythic Path – Sacrifice the Purple Stone Knife while maintaining progress along the aeon journey.
    • Destroy the stone or cleansing the stone – Eliminate the Purple Stone Knife completely.

Following a brief cinematic sequence, you’ll engage in combat with the demoness Minagho and her followers. A tactical approach involves casting Grease to destabilize the enemies before launching your assault on the boss.

Post-battle, Staunton Vhane assists Minagho’s escape. The Gray Garrison’s completion marks the end of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous’ initial act. You’ll now unlock Mythic Paths and soon encounter the Crusade/Army Management system, which might prompt you to reconsider your character build.
